Yolanta Valeikaite made her debut at age 18 as a soloist in the Lithuanian National Ballet Company, where she remained as a principal dancer for 10 years. She performed lead roles on tour in the United States, Central and South America and Europe. She was a guest soloist in several Companies including the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. She won medals in International Ballet Competitions in Moscow, Varna and Paris. In 1992 she moved to Germany to perform as a principal with the Bonn Ballet and the Essen ballet. She established and directed her own school in Bonn and continued to collaborate with the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater. She also worked as an assistant and Ballet Mistress for “The Rite of Spring” in Beijing with the Central Ballet of China. Recently she was assistant choreographer for a new production of “Carmina Burana” for the National Ballet of Lithuania and gave Master Classes for the National Ballet Academy. |
