Additional Combination Classes:
Tap/Jazz ·· [ ages 7 to 9 ] Continued development in Tap dance with more emphasis on upper body technique, flexibility of the feet and clarity of sounds. Introduction to Jazz dance with basic warm up, isolations and moves across the floor. Center combinations are taught to age appropriate music and show tunes.
Classes in specific disciplines:
Classical Ballet ·· [ prerequisite: Ballet Basics ] A continuation in a structured class with emphasis on technique at the barre, center floor and across the floor.
Pointe ·· [ ages 11 and up, with a minimum of 3 years experience of 1 hour Ballet classes ]. Must be a disciplined dancer with strong technique, placement and body alignment to succeed in dancing in Pointe shoes without the risk of injury.
Jazz Dance ·· [ prerequisites: Tap/Jazz or 1 hour Ballet ] Jazz is a stylized theatrical form of dance that incorporates other dance forms, especially Ballet for its technique. It is influenced by the musical styles of several decades. Classes include basic warm up, isolations, and moves across the floor, leaps, turns and center combinations.
